CONCRETE SPALLING AND CANCER
RBS has a team of specialists in the area of concrete spalling who specialise in spalling repair and are members of acra (Australian concrete repair association) along with other governing bodies.
Concrete spalling is a common fault in seaside properties due to carbonation and substantial chloride levels and RBS conducts full assessments and liaise with concerning clients to develop the best possible repair strategy to suit our client’s needs.
Common repair process is to remove damaged concrete surrounding affected steel reinforcement, Clean and treat reinforcement and in some cases remove and reinstate new steel reinforcement, apply primers and High Build compounds with Corrosion Inhibitors and finally apply a fairing coat to entire area as so no evidence of repair is traceable. This leaves the repair looking uniform and as if it had never been touched.
